A Paisley brewing company is set to host the first Paisley Craft Beer Festival in the heart of the town centre.
On the 11th March between 1 and 9pm, Sandy and the team from Two Towns Down Brewing will host brewers from all over Scotland at the Coats Memorial Church for the festival, promising a brilliant day of fun for Paisley and the surrounding areas.
Speaking to PaisleyRadio.com, Sandy said “We have got some of the best breweries from around Scotland coming along to pour and talk to you about their beers. We’re also going to have a gin and prosecco bar, and spirits for those who aren’t so keen. We’re also going to have entertainment and food trucks as well, so it all adds up to a great day out!”
“We’re a Paisley based brewery, and the only one in the town for 120 years! Having been to a lot of beer festivals, and we realised that there’s not really anything like that in Paisley, so we thought ‘why not do it for ourselves?’ This is us putting down our roots. I’m originally from Paisley, and this was always the plan. We’ve had the brewery in Back Sneddon Street in Paisley since December, and the plan is that we’re going to have a bar on site there as well. You’ll be able to drink the beer there and watch whilst it’s being made as well!”
“It’s a bit of a shame, really, because there’s never been one in Paisley. Even though there’s always been a big following of the Camra Beer Festival there’s never really been any beer made in Paisley, so it’s been something I’ve always wanted to bring back. We’ve tried to get some of the best breweries from all over Scotland. There are teams coming from Aberdeen, Peterhead, Inverness, Perth and all over, really. This is the first one ever. Thankfully from having been at a number of beer festivals we have an idea of how they run, but it’s been a bit of challenge!”
