Hey!! I’m Nicola and new to Paisley Radio as of July 2021!!! So excited to be a part of this forward thinking radio station, and feel I have finally found my place! Que being told to be quiet, lower my voice and shut it most of my life! I always knew it would come in handy.
I am a multi award winning, internationally published makeup artist, trainer, author and beauty columnist. Still in awe of all this myself to be honest! I am a Paisley lass, born and bred and have come a long way from the bonnie streets of Glenburn Road. I moved away at age 19 to fly the skies as cabin crew, and moved back home in 2009 – as I was always being beckoned back like a magnet to my fair home town.
I am all about positive mind set and turning ‘trauma into tremendous’ is what you’ll inherit from me. Along with my joy of walking, yoga, reading and writing. How did I get into broadcasting? I fell into it really. It’s always been a dream of mine to host my own radio show, always being told I would make a great presenter. Over the past few year’s I have been on numerous podcasts, building confidence and networking. I used all my achievements and connections to propel my way onto the airwaves and really couldn’t be happier to find my place with the Paisley Radio team.
Random encounter with any celebrity? First one that immediately comes to mind is Ant McPartlin. I used to live in Newcastle back in the cabin crew days and ended up sitting with him and his friends at a bar in the city. Brilliant night and such a nice guy. I remember him giving me sound advice. There’s a few more chance encounters but you will have to listen in to hear the goss!
Music preferences? Very eclectic – such as my life experiences – anything from dance, trance, rap, R & B to 60’s classics from the likes of The Kinks and Rolling Stones! Uplifting is my vibe! 1st record ever bought? I’m sure it was East 17’s ‘It’s Alright’.
