Residents looking to access council services over the festive period are being urged to check in advance for opening hours and emergency contacts.
Many council services will close or operate on an emergency basis from 2.30pm on Friday 22 December 2023, although all lifeline services will continue to operate and online services remain available throughout.
A handy guide has been prepared for residents on the council website outlining opening hours and contact numbers for any services they may need, such as care at home, bin collections, community meals and emergency repairs.
Local people can access this information on the Council’s website at www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/festivehours2023.
Council services will resume normal operating hours again from Thursday 4 January 2024.
Councillor Marie McGurk, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Communities, Housing and Planning Policy Board, said “I want to thank all our staff who provide services for local people, not just at Christmas but throughout the year, and I hope they all have the chance to spend some quality time with friends and family.”
“It’s important though that residents know our lifeline services are still available during the festive period and they should not hesitate to get in touch should they need us, with our website having all our emergency contacts and opening hours in one place.”
“Our online services continue to be available when council offices are closed, and our services will return to normal operating hours from Thursday 4 January 2024.”
The festive closure information forms part of Renfrewshire Council’s #RenReady campaign which aims to prepare residents and business for the winter period. The council’s website provides information on how to prepare for adverse weather or the loss of power or water, as well as how to prepare your home, your business or your community.
